We need more police officers, a stronger presence, less pawn shops, less “we buy gold” shops,

The man that was shot was not a low life and most certainly not a gangster. He was a father of three that did not deserve this. Why don’t you get your facts straight before you go throwing judgement out. If you want to call someone a low life, how about starting with the person that did this.

I live 7 houses away from there. This is the second shooting within 6 months literally in the same area. The last shooting was right across the street from game time 3

Another American dies from guns. Funny the the “Gazette” will cover the sensational parts of shootings but isn’t willing to support efforts to expand gun control.

Criminals don’t legally own guns fyi

The gun didn’t fire by it self. Stop blaming gun laws and start taking responsibility of our own actions. Where are morals, respect? come on parents it starts with you, teach your children for their future.

Shame, McDermott, after under staffing the HPD for years, just before the 2011 election announced the hiring of 20 cops. Never happened. McDermott spent $850,000 in Henry Unit overtime and failed to keep records of who earned the overtime, in violation of federal law. Wonder if there is another $26,000 Pete Moore Jr overtime scandal? Wanna bet?

All of the bars in Hessville do not deserve such a bad reputation, and not all of the people in them are low lives, but it truly is a shame this sort of behavior continues to be a growing problem in the area. Game Time 3 is one of the cleanest bars in the region and this incident could have happened at any one of the dozens of establishments throughout Northwest Indiana.

It’s true that the same could happen at any bar as it actually has happened in the past. However, there’s no denying that the area has certainly changed, not for the best, over the years. It would be easy, also, to surmise that many of the bars in the area have become magnets for gang activity. Unless blind, or not keeping up with what’s been going on, it would not be hard to see what is happening right under our noses. I have lived in the area for decades, raised my children here, but things have definitely changed, not for the better for all…

I really don’t like Indiana simply because it’s a lot of racist, a place of hatred and discrimination is not a good place for no one to live

That is a pretty broad generalization. Thanks for your thoughts.

Its the same element that took over, then closed, Sebastien’s, McTaverns, The Copper Penny, and LaRosas. I think it has elements of the same crowd that hung at da escalade. I think that there is a pattern here. #whatsayyou

Very Sad what has happened ! It seems like the region in a whole is going down hill , a couple of weeks ago a Portage man pulls a gun out on a neighbor , Highland Police department issued a Burglary alert , robbery in dyer residential neighborhood and a few months back people getting robbed at gunpoint in there driveways and atm in Schererville and dyer ! makes you wonder what is going on with society these days and makes you guess in what area are you really safe in because it seems like crime is spreading everywhere like wildfire!
