Hammond Homicide: Chicago Man Fatally Shot

A Chicago man was fatally shot in the 4000 block of Grover Street in Hammond early this morning. The office of the Lake County Coroner reports that Jonathon Butler, age 30 of Chicago, Illinois, died of multiple gunshot wounds at 1:15 a.m. on October 20, 2013.

    I guess it depends on how you look at things, Ken. In this case, a drug dealer is dead and no tax dollars were used to arrest him or pay the costs to lock him up in jail. A couple of the other stories I read over the weekend involved drunks who voluntarily took themselves out of the gene pool.
