The once popular Aquavor Night Club in Hammond is now closed.

The State of Indiana reports that The Stadium LLC, the corporation that owns the now shuttered Aquavor Night Club, is in the process of transferring its liquor license. There is no indication as to where the license will go. The license was scheduled to expire on August 2, 2013 but an extension was granted until November 2, 2013.

The once popular nightclub made headlines earlier in the year when the City Council passed a resolution effectively shutting off city parking at the facility.  Aquavor was owned by friend of Mayor McDermott Ray Rapchak.  Ray Rapchak’s son, Myles Rapchak, is a realtor at Latitude Realty, a company owned by Mayor McDermott’s half brother, Aaron.  Aaron McDermott and Hammond City officials were among those portrayed in photos of guests of Aquavor posted on Facebook.

What? The mayor was not able to avert the closing of Aquavor for his friend? Oh, poor Rapchak! :))

Does that mean I don’t have to pay my tab?

my thinking on the forced closure has more to deal with the opening weekend vehicular homicide. if llc partners were in the bar, serving drinks, could they be held complicit in the murder? would the usual protections an llc provides the partners be breached and then exposed?
