Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the apparent drowning death of Adam Fuller, 29, of Greenwood. Mr. Fuller had been kayaking with a friend on White River, north of Martinsville, just downstream from the IPL dam. While he was kayaking he flipped his kayak and lost some of his fishing gear into the river. Mr. Fuller had beached the kayak and began wading out into the river, trying to retrieve his fishing equipment when he was swept under by the current. Mr. Fuller was wearing a life jacket; however the undertow was so strong that it did not allow him to surface.
The 911 call for Mr. Fuller was called in at 7:15 PM. He was recovered from the river with an Indiana Conservation Officer’s Airboat at 10:00 PM. The official cause of death will not be determined until after the autopsy on Friday.
The death investigation is being conducted by Indiana Conservation Officer Lance LaBonte. He was assisted at the scene by Harrison Twp FD, Brooklyn FD, Gregg Twp FD, Paragon FD, Brown Twp FD, Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and the Morgan County Coroner’s Office.
